Beautifully formed stomacher piece with large coque-de-perle stones. A piece like this would have been worn as a bodice ornament on an elaborate court dress. There are foil-backed topaz stones, cerise foil exaggerating their natural color. Tiny marcasite stones surround each large pearl. The piece can be worn in reduced form as the drops are removable. Presented in its original fitted box. English in origin. Circa 1800.
Measures 6″ and 2″ wide.
